Recommended timetable for submitting the Master's thesis to avoid further tuition fees
The processing time for the Master's thesis is six months and begins with the issue of the topic on record by the Examination Office (see § 22 Abs. 2 uand 5 SPO). It is necessary that you register your topic and the thesis in writing with the Examination Office. The Master's thesis must be handed in/submitted to the Examination Office on record after completion. It is essential that you make an appointment for this in advance.
You will find your individual deadline for submitting your Master's thesis on the document you receive from the Examinations Office, which officially confirms the issue of the Master's thesis topic (“registration”) with the corresponding title.
Please note:
It is quite possible that your individual processing deadline does not coincide with our instructions regarding the avoidance of further tuition fees.
If you wish to avoid paying further tuition fees for the following semester, the Master's thesis must be submitted no later than
- by January 10 (winter semester) or
- by July 10 (summer semester)
at the latest. If the thesis is submitted later, OVGU's services (preparation of reports and certificates) will extend beyond the semester in question, so that we reserve the right to demand tuition fees for the following semester as well.

**The prerequisite for this is full payment of tuition fees for all semesters completed.
